Drive PX2 shut down or freezes randomly.

Hello,

The DRIVE PX2 board shuts down randomly.
Sometimes it runs all day, but sometimes it is turned off without running any processes.

I don’t know what is the problem. Because this situation happens randomly.

How can I fix this? I can send log files if necessary.

It could be possible due to over heating. If you notice this issue frequently, Can you please check with latest PDK and let us know(https://developer.nvidia.com/drive/downloads)

I’m not sure the problem is caused by over heating. Could the problem occur when used in the office?
If so, I am afraid to use it for autonomous driving.

Is there any possibility of a hardware problem?

Is there any guide for system checking?

We did not notice such issues in forum so far. It is difficult comment on the issue when you/we can not reproduce it. How frequently do you see this? Is it happening using latest PDK?

We’ve installed the OS of DPX2 using Driveinstall 5.0.5.
I assume that the pdk installation is included in the driveinstall process, right?
It happens almost every time we use dpx2.

Here are the situations that we’ve encountered so far that made px2 freeze:

  • When first logging in to OS
  • When closing tabs of chrominum-browser
  • When running multiple processes of drivenets with video inputs.
  • When using recording with 4 concurrent gmsl cameras using recording tools at /usr/local/driveworks/tools/recorder
    There are a lot more of them, but these are the situations that I can remember.

It is hard to find the cause for the problem, because sometimes dpx2 doesn’t freeze even when
we reproduce the situation that are assumed to cause problem.

Is it autocruise or autochauffer?
Did you notice this issue when you log into system just after reboot or the system is on for a while and you are trying to login?
When it gets hang, please connect to tegra via serial console and run Tegrastats to know the load on the board. Could you upgrade to Drive 5.0.10 via Devzone and let us know.

It’s going to take some time to upgrade the troubled px2, due to some other issue, but I think
the problem is related to other reason rather than the version of pdk,
since the other px2(we have two px2 board in total) installed with 5.0.5 is working well, without freezes or shutdowns.
Could you please have a look at the syslog files captured at the troubled situation?
I will post the logs asap.
