Editing usd files

I try to edit a file as following:

  1. in the isaac sim → right click the file → Edit…
  2. editing in vs code → save the vs code
  3. in the isaac sim → right click the file → Finish editing

but when I use the usd file the changes i did do not apper
what do i need to do to keep the changes?

Isaac Sim Version 4.2.0
Operating System Ubuntu 22.04
