Isaac SIM in omniverse not launching

@fzg7919 This usage is expected for now. A fix is planned for the next version to have a another option to upload folders.

Hi,
I am running isaac_sim-2021.1.1 and also have the same issue. here is my log, thanks

@Sheikh_Dawood I want to try that, but when I hit the launch button it doesn’t open anything so I can select headless WebSocket launcher.

@morteza.dianatfar Try running that command in a terminal. It will run the headless Isaac Sim with websockets directly, without using the launcher.

@BobbyChen From your logs, it looks like you are missing a local install of Nucleus. You can install it using command line with the downloaded Nucleus installer if you are running headless or you can install it via the Omniverse Launcher.

could you give any help on how to do it?

Using terminal, go to the installed Isaac Sim package at ~/.local/share/ov/pkg/isaac_sim-2021.1.1. Then run

./isaac-sim.headless.websocket.sh

I tried the instruction i get error message which i attached to the word document.Isaac_socket_error.docx (13.2 KB)

It looks like a driver issue. Can you post the output of nvidia-smi?
Try installing the drivers using the .run file.

Here’s a useful guide.
https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/prod_launcher/prod_kit/linux-troubleshooting.html

Please also check that the GPU is detected in the VM. This may not work if the VM does not support GPU passthrough.

Posting here because it seems to be the most recently updated thread with Isaac Sim launch issues. [Please let me know if I should create a new topic for this instead.]

I’m facing the same general problems as the original poster.

  1. Isaac Sim doesn’t launch from the Launcher – there’s a blank window that shows up for a fraction of a second (and then vanishes)
then, nothing.
  2. Running from the shell results in a floating point exception (see below).

Here is my setup:

System:
- Ubuntu 20.04
- Memory: 64 GB
- 2 GPUs:
   - Titan Xp
   - RTX 2080 Ti

NVidia:
- Driver: 470.63.01 (installed via sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall).
- Launcher: 1.3.2
- Isaac Sim: 2021.1.1
- Cache: 2021.2.1
- Nucleus: 2021.2.2

Output from terminal:

$>./isaac-sim.sh -vv

 yields this error:

How do I get this working?

Hi @safdar.kureishy. I believe your issue is a different one. It could be related to the Titan Xp that is not supported.
Try running with this flag to ignore the Titan Xp or try remove the Titan Xp GPU.

–/renderer/activeGpu=1

I do not see the numba error in the log. Try changing the version to 0.51.2.

Thanks for the prompt response, @Sheikh_Dawood Sheikh_Dawood.

I downgraded numba to the one you mentioned:

$> pip install numba==0.51.2

And, I then ran isaac-sim with the GPU option you specified, as follows:

$> ./isaac-sim.sh -vv –/renderer/activeGpu=1

But I still see the following errors across the output/log file:

Here are the “nvidia”-related processes running on my machine prior to launching isaac-sim:

I also tried to create a Nucleus service, since the warnings alluded to that, but the nucleus setup hourglass keeps spinning, and the corresponding log contains these errors/warnings:

Are there any other command outputs I should include here, to shed light on why this is happening?

And, should I create a new topic for this? Or continue on this thread?

Greetings,

Isaac is not launching even if I try launching it through the terminal, here is the log

and this is the output of nvidia-smi

Hi, @abdulla.albreiki . I’m afraid the Quadro T2000 is supported as it does not have RT cores. You will need an RTX capable GPU to run Isaac Sim.

Thanks @Sheikh_Dawood for the quick reply, you saved me a lot of debugging time

Well I can open it all from the command line I guess but please make this more stable on bare metal workstation and there is a lack of instructions or videos. Can you fix this problem???
Look everyone has this same problem. I have Ubuntu Installed.
I have Omniverse working in Ubuntu.

The first time I launched Isaac Sim it launched.
I did not have a Nucleus Server set up before that.
It did open up Isaac Sim the first time and I was able to see a robot arm demo.

Then it says that error about needing the Nucleus server and downloading and reuploading the sample.

However once you install the Nucleus Server you can not relaunch Isaac Sim.

So I can not launch Isaac Sim now. If i uninstall Nucleus, it still does not launch.
If I uninstall Isaac Sim restart reinstall Isaac Sim it does not launch.

Can you please simple fix this problem 1. So that I can completely uninstall Omniverse anytime and reinstall it properly.

Can you simple please fix this problem so that I can simply launch Isaac Sim I can not do so at all now like read above please.

Next time if I rewipe ubuntu totally then I will have nucleus installed before I install Isaac Sim
but it is pretty sad i can not simply run this program please help me.

I had to do many things just to get Ubuntu working, Disable Fast and Smart Boot, install Nvidia Drivers, just to get Omniverse working on Linux. Thanks, Cliff

Hi, apologies on the lack of instructions. We will be improving our documentation for the upcoming version.

Please provide the logs for the Isaac Sim App Launcher or Isaac Sim with the crash.
Isaac Sim should still run even without a local Nucleus installed.

You can uninstall Omniverse cleanly with this tool. Please exit the Launcher before running the Cleanup Tool.
https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/prod_launcher/prod_utilities/cleanup-tool.html

The same error that Isaac Sim did not start from Launcher happened with me. After a year, is there a fix or not?

@Robotawi Please provide more details on the Isaac Sim version you are trying and logs with the error.

I encountered the same floating point exception thing across different runs at different times during the run
