Jetpack 4.3 install freeze after Flash

We are trying to install Jetpack 4.3 on our Xavier Dev Board.

We updated the Software Manager 1.0.0.5517, then we downloaded Jetpack 4.3, connected to the correct USB port, set Xavier into recovery mode, started the flash process.

After the flash is done (“success”), Software Manager prompts that we now must configure the Ubuntu OS on the Xavier.

When switching to the Xavier Screen we see Text Bootup Display. It stops with the message:
“please complete system configuration setup on the serial port provided by Jetson’s USB device mode connection…”
then some success messages.
Then it waits forever with:
(1 of 2) a start job is running for end user configuration after initial OEM installation (Debconf UI)
alternating with
(2 of 2) a start job is running for end user configuration after initial OEM installation

this stays forever.

Help appreciated.

Have you tried with a display connected and powered on during the flash and first boot? If a display isn’t connected on first boot it’ll default to first boot configuration over serial.

So your solution is to either configure by serial or reflash and reboot with a screen connected. Also, You can probably skip installing the software via SDK Manager since most, if not all, packages seem to be in the online apt repositories now. (eg. sudo apt install deepstream-4.0) on the Tegra device itself will install DeepStream.

The mdegans suggest is good.
Please connect HDMI monitor and power on the Xavier, then you can start system configuration setup process, when it boot into Desktop GUI, you can start install sdk components.
