When I use the “dmesg --follow” to watch the HDMI state: the log list shows as below, no response when the HDMI was plug in and unplug, the HDMI displayer cannot see the desktop of the Jetson Module (SD card version), what’s the possible problem for this condition?

Did you adjust the device tree for your carrier board layout? Unless the carrier board is an exact copy of the layout of the dev kit you can expect parts of the carrier board to fail. Pins such as the plug in detect and the routing of the DDC wire to the right i2c controller are probably just not pointed at the correct carrier board traces. Thanks for this reply. I change some peripherals, add wifi module through the PCIE interface for example. But the HDMI link circuit is almost same, now I want to first fix the HDMI bug (hardware or software), then I can use the display to debug other interface and peripherals.

If some part of the DDC wire of HDMI is different than the reference carrier board, then the device tree would have to be updated specifically for that (I am making the assumption that those logs occurred while a valid HDMI monitor was connected). Everything indicates that either (A) the i2c controller which should have been routed to the DDC was incorrect, or else (B) the power rail to the i2c controller and/or monitor was not up (normally the host computer provides power to the i2c circuitry of the monitor in order to allow detection even if the monitor power is not on).

So I would carefully check if the wiring, including i2c of DDC is unchanged versus reference design, and I would also check that the power rails for that i2c is up.

Additionally: I put the VCC3V3_HDMI is always on, so no sleep control from MOD_SLEEP Pin, and so on the VDD_5V0_HDMI_CON is always ON. this is different from the B01 reference design. does this matter for this HDMI display debug?

Where I can find the A02 carrier board HW material? I can only find the B01 version. The carrier board in my hand is A02 not B01, I want to check some voltage level on the carrier board A02 to compare with my board. Really thanks first.

I could not personally say what differences from different revisions might matter, someone from NVIDIA would have to suggest that.

FYI, the i2c levels are defined for the HDMI connector. I don’t know off hand what the required level is defined as, but I think it is 3.3V (it could be 1.8V, not positive).

That is the problem. A02 module is not for production and would only work on A02 devkit, not compatible with B01 design. We don’t have A02 design guide either.
