I have download the latest version of nsight for vs2017,and update the windows to win10 1809 to try dxr in dx12, however, the nsight debugger showed the win10 1809 is unsurpported。I’d like to know if it’s something wrong with my visual studio or when the next release will update.Thanks.
Hello!
If you are willing to give it a try, the latest version of Nsight Graphics has support for the October creators update.
Additionally, there will be an update to Nsight Graphics very soon that has more DXR support!
You can download it and give it a try here: Gameworks Download Center | NVIDIA Developer
Let me know if this works for you!
Thanks!
Seth
The latest Visual Studio Edition should also have RS5 support…be sure you have version 6.0.0.18296.
Note that Shader Debugging is only supported on Kepler GPUs with this version, but frame debugging should support DX12 and DXR.
If you continue to have problems, please let us know your NsightVSE / NsightGraphics and driver version.
Hi,
I am also having issues using Nsight for Vulkan debugging in Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition on Windows 1809. If I try to capture a frame I get the following error message in the console and in the error output file:
- The following incompatibilities were seen during capture: NvAPI_D3D11_RegisterDeviceFromOGL
- Unsupported OS detected: Windows 10 (17763) NvAPI_D3D11_RegisterDeviceFromOGL
I am using Nsight 6.0.0.18260 and checking for updates does not show me any new updates. Additionally, I am using the latest 417.35 driver version, although with all previous driver releases I was having the same problem. I am using the new Razer Blade 15 laptop which has hybrid graphics.

has a version (6.0.0.18296 updated 10/24/2018) that supports graphics frame debugging on win 10 RS5/build 17763/v1809.
We’ll investigate the issue with the version update detection.
Hi rbischof,
I have downloaded Nsight again and I can see that the version now is 6.0.0.18296. However, the problem still persists and I cannot capture a frame. The error file no longer says unsupported OS but both the VS console and the error file mention this string: NvAPI_D3D11_RegisterDeviceFromOGL.

Constantinos
Thanks for the feedback. We fixed the NsightVSE update detection (server side issue), so you’ll be notified of the next update.
We have also confirmed the NvAPI_D3D11_RegisterDeviceFromOGL and will get this fixed for an upcoming version of NsightVSE and NsightGraphics.
Hi rbischof,
These are great news! I am looking forward to the next version of Nsight that fixes the NvAPI_D3D11_RegisterDeviceFromOGL issue.
Regards,
Constantinos
This should be fixed in the latest version of Nsight Graphics (https://developer.nvidia.com/nsight-graphics)
An NsightVSE update with this fix is coming soon.
