I’m looking for help here as a last resort.
I’ve spoken to the game developers at Taleworlds (game is Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord) and they gave up on finding a solution.
Short summary: I’ve played this game for nearly 400h without issues. After a few months break I try to start the game and it won’t start. Simply crashes on start up.
Reason: Even viewer and crash logs says that there is an issue with nvcuda64.dll, but I can’t get it to work.
What I’ve tried:
- Uninstalling game (and cleaning any residual files)
- Used DDU to remove all GPU drivers, performed fresh install 3x
- Changed global and game specific settings related to CUDA in 3d setting in nvidia control panel (I’ve set GPU Cuda to none)
- Tried to change ownership of the nvcuda.dll file to myself, and tried to change the name of it to backup to see if the game would just try to ignore CUDA all together (didn’t work since I couldn’t change the name of the file even though I had full access/control over the file. Also tried this through CMD)
I’ve been abandoned by the developers even though I payed for the product.
I desperately need help either from smart people here or NVIDIA support.
Any ideas, any help, anything at all is appreciated
