I haven’t been able to update my AGX Orin Devkit from 5.0.1 preview (r34.1.1) to 5.1 (r35.2) (It is working with a 5.0.1 install) I’ve tried: SdkManager recovery mode / Manual recovery flash / Apt upgrade All seem to fail a similar way, with a kernel panic (right after the fan turns on): Interna…

Hi, I don’t know why there is a need to setup these parameters in bashrc. Our flash script does not take these as input either. Honestly, how about you just use sdkmanager to help you download and prepare the BSP? This could prevent error from any mistake you did in handling the BSP by yoursel…

From your serial console log, it seems the similar result as you flash with SDKM. Do you connect any external storage like NVMe SSD or USB drive on your devkit? Could you take a photo for your AGX Orin devkit?

Hi kevin, see photos attached. The cables are all newly purchased. There is no micro sd card or other external storage. The only peripheral is the wirless usb receiver for keyborad and mouse, and i have tried quite a few times flashing the unit without this receiver. I have also tried with 2 diffe…

[ 8.921244] Root device found: initrd ... bash-5.0# [ 39.900837] vdd-12v-sys: disabling From your current serial console log, it seems going to recovery boot which should occur after several times boot failed. Is that the full serial console log after you power on the board? Could you help t…

sure kevin, I’ll try without monitor and peripherals, only serial log cable. Will attach the log soon. now every time I boot the unit, it automatically goes to recovery boot. Do i need to re flash the unit to be able to see logs for direct boot?

so I have re flashed the unit, and here are the logs that has direct boot info and kernel panic logs minicom_no_peripheral.cap (181.3 KB) Here are the screenshots of reflashing and serial logs [vmware_MnKV6aZsNe] [vmware_6o2Ol6atoH]

Are you trying to boot from some external disk?

hi Wayne, nope, I’m always trying to boot from eMMC

Then why your kernel command line seems trying to boot from other devices? [ 0.000000] Kernel command line: root=PARTUUID=0a48d1c2-71ee-4e0d-9d84-1da7853ddec4 rw rootwait rootfstype=ext4 mminit_loglevel=4 console=ttyTCU0,115200 console=ttyAMA0,115200 console=tty0

Oh, is there anything i can try to rule out more potential causes? The log above are generated by connecting 3 cables: power type c, flash type c and mini usb for serial logs. No other peripherals were connected. [20230502_174814]

I notice you never showed us the flash command. Could you share it too? Please do not share anymore screenshot. Pictures won’t help much unless it is graphic issue. Always share the full text log as attachment.
