We are having troubles using WebRTC client to stream IsaacSim from a docker container.
The docker container is running in the same local network as the client.
The WebRTC client cannot connect and only a black screen is shown. I get no error messages from both sides.
The only way I can stream the content of the docker container is by using deprecated Omniverse Streaming Client.
This works, but will be deprecated soon (October), hence it would be ideal to have a fix soon-ish.
If I’m correct, we don’t provide any official solutions or support for running Isaac Sim WebRTC streaming behind proxy servers. Could you let us know where you found the --proxy-server option or any related documentation? This might help us clarify the intended usage and provide more accurate guidance.
We do not support any kind of proxy server. As mentioned, where did you read about the proxy server option? I check the link you sent and it does not mention the word proxy anywhere.
We used the proxy server flag for the deprecated Omniverse streaming client, as ref. in many places e.g. Using a Proxy Server — Omniverse Launcher, and it works.
As I already said, we tried to use the WebRTC client with and without proxy flag, thus I don’t think it made any difference.
Okay, then my question is: given the fact that the two workstations (docker container with Isaac Sim and the streaming client) are in the same local network, why does WebRTC streaming not work? As I said, the only “exceptional” thing is that workstations cannot communicate with internet directly but they have to go behind a proxy server that manages the hospital network. But the workstations can communicate between one another without internet because they are on the same local network. @Richard3D@VickNV
You are saying that the two machines do have internet access? That could be a problem. Even if they are on the same local network. Have you tried to do this on just one main machine to test your workflow? So run the container and the streaming client together on the same machine and confirm everything works normally.
I will check on this specific issue. The problem is that even with a proxy server, it could be changing the ports.
Yes, the machines have internet access behind a proxy. But they are in the same local network. I can verify whether streaming localhost from the same power workstation where the docker container runs works. But I need to physically access the machine, this will be possible for me on Monday.
