R35.5 unable to locate package nvidia-jetpack

Hi, we found Jetson Linux 35.5.0 unable to locate package nvidia-jetpack.
Could you please check it for us? Thank you.

sudo BOARDID=3767 BOARDSKU=0001 ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --massflash 10 --no-flash --external-device nvme0n1p1 -c tools/kernel_flash/flash_l4t_external.xml -p “-c bootloader/t186ref/cfg/flash_t234_qspi.xml” --showlogs --network usb0 p3509-a02+p3767-0000 internal

sudo ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --erase-all --flash-only --showlogs p3509-a02+p3767-0000 nvme0n1p1

After boot to the desktop of DUT,
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-jetpack

apt.zip (20.8 KB)

Hi fengying_chu,

We can see the nvidia-jetpack package on r35.5.

Hi @carolyuu ,
did you use sdkmanager to flash the r35.5 to your DUT?

It is very weird. I just used the following steps, and I cannot get apt install on nvidia-jetpack, nvidia-container, nvidia-docker, etc packages. They are alll unable to locate. However, it is ok to apt install nvidia-l4t-* packages.

sudo BOARDID=3767 BOARDSKU=0001 ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --massflash 10 --no-flash --external-device nvme0n1p1 -c tools/kernel_flash/flash_l4t_external.xml -p “-c bootloader/t186ref/cfg/flash_t234_qspi.xml” --showlogs --network usb0 p3509-a02+p3767-0000 internal

sudo ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --erase-all --flash-only --showlogs p3509-a02+p3767-0000 nvme0n1p1

您好,我不是使用sdkmanager燒錄image到DUT裏頭,我是用build code然後燒錄的動作,如以上。很奇怪,我這邊都無法使用sudo apt install nvidia-jetpack, nvidia-container, nvidia-docker, etc packages,都會顯示unable to locate package…

然而,我這邊可以正常sudo apt install nvidia-l4t-開頭的 packages。

Hi fengying_chu,

Can you try flash with below command?

$ sudo ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --external-device nvme0n1p1 -c tools/kernel_flash/flash_l4t_external.xml -p "-c bootloader/t186ref/cfg/flash_t234_qspi.xml" --showlogs --network usb0 p3509-a02+p3767-0000 internal

I’m using flash command to flash r35.5 on my Jetson platform.

Hi @carolyuu , after using your command, the issue still happened.

Hi fengying_chu,

Change to P3509 + Orin-NX with JP-5.1.3, confirmed I still can’t reproduce your issue.

Hi carolyuu,
I have the same issue. I found that sometimes nvidia-jetpack package can be installed after removing the /var/lib/apt/lists and redoing “apt-get update”. The contents of repo.download.nvidia.com_jetson_t234_dists_r35.5_InRelease were different when nvidia-jetpack can be installed. Please see the attachments.
Could it be possible that the system sometimes connect to the nvidia server which has the right InRelease file!?
NG.log (7.0 KB)
repo.download.nvidia.com_jetson_t234_dists_r35.5_InRelease_NG.txt (2.5 KB)
OK.log (7.2 KB)
repo.download.nvidia.com_jetson_t234_dists_r35.5_InRelease_OK.txt (2.5 KB)

Not sure whether that’s networking issue to cause this problem.
