Samtec PCIe board for MTP camera connection

Hi,
i am new with these items, i am trying to connect a camera with MTP interface to the jetson agx developer kit. To make the connection I mounted a samtec PXH842 adapter on the PCIe slot of the jetson, but it doesn’t seem to work, any suggestion? is the jatson slot only x8? i think the card is x16, is this the problem?
