Issue Description
I am trying to run the run_cgf_demo.sh in the target (aarch64) after adding a custom nodes to the CGFDemo.app.json and the graphlet. json. I cross compiled and the samples for the target, however, I can replace the custom_nodes.so.5.14 in the /lib/ which is there’s no corresponding directory to store the newly generated .stm binaries and the app.json to start the CGF, so where do I replace the files?
and if this isnt the right way, how does one test the CGF/STM on the target?

Firstly did you install CGF sample debian on target? If not, please do that.
New STM binaries should be replaced on target. Did you check Compute Graph Framework SDK Reference: Custom Node and Integration
Let us know if any step in not clear to you.
Hi @SivaRamaKrishnaNV thank you for the insight, we got all the samples and corresponding data installed on the target, and we followed the link Compute Graph Framework SDK Reference: Custom Node and Integration as you mentioned, however when trying to run the script again after replacing respective files, the drive crashes, and we would have to restart the drive again. here’s a log of the Launcher:

update: the log above was generated when we powered off the sdk, so this time we let it run for longer period of time. However the issue still hasnt solved. I am still getting a blank screen on roadrunner. attached some pictures fo reference.

Regarding the issue, Please confirm if you can run default cgf_demo with out any issue on target?
Please confirm what files are copied onto target? Note that, the target should have all new files modified on docker to include custom node.
Please upload complete logs(as zip or in text box) and use text messages instead of images.

we can run both minipipeline and CGF demo on the target without any issue. however I cannot run the modified app.json.
according to the documentation, after cross compiling the files in docker, I only replace the CGFDemo.app.json, CGFDemo.graphlet.json, both the stm binaries and libcgf_custom_nodes.so, along with this saving the HelloWorldNode.node.json and SumNode.node.json as well on target.
My drive kit is on 6.0.8.1, and the documentation mentions about replacing the files in some directories where the folders arent present on the version mentioned. for eg. /usr/local/driveworks/src/cgf/nodes/ his directory is missing in the target.
Please install driveworks-samples debian on target.
@SivaRamaKrishnaNV just to be sure, when referencing to the deb files these are the ones we are referring to right? if so, I did install all of them right after a clean flash.

I would expect the sample to work on DRIVE OS 6.0.8.1. Please double check if the modified json, library files are placed in correct path. I would suggest to rename old files to avoid such issues
I would recommend to update to latest release if no dependency on DRIVE OS version.

Steps followed to run CGF demo with custom nodes.
- Installed DW, CGF samples and data debian packages on target. Debians are at
/drive/extra/driveworks
on docker.
- Ran CGF_demo on target to confirm no issue with sample.
- On docker, now made changes in CGFDemo.graphlet.json, CGFDemo.app.json as per Compute Graph Framework SDK Reference: Custom Node and Integration . Note that you need to update the
HelloWorldNode.node.json, SumNode.node.json
paths carefully and make sure the same path is existed on target as well. For simplicity I copied them under /usr/local/driveworks/apps/cgf_demo/nodes
on both host and target. Copy the updated CGFDemo.graphlet.json, CGFDemo.app.json
onto target at respective location. I have attached the files for your reference.
- Generate new YAML and stm files on docker with updated CGFDemo.app.json like below

Hi @SivaRamaKrishnaNV thank you so much for going through this, I just went through the files, I see that the only difference was the placement of helloworld and sum node connection snippets in the graphlet.json and app.json.
We got the nodes being recognized in the camera_pipeline0_0.log
However, I still see a black screen for unknown time after running the script. The display and mouse and keyboard are irresponsive, and we get this error ping from the minicom while the script is running still :
plus if you check launcher log, stm master isnt executing the threads for the same time as the display is gone. I have attached the log folder as zip again.

Can you poweroff/poweron the target and test again. Is cgf_demo working and noticed display issue only with custom nodes? I used x11vnc
on target and opening VNC viewer from host to remotely check GUI output.
