Hi, the “Hardware quick start guide” only shows the “Basic connections for Xavier A”. With the connections unchange, when I try to setup the network of Xavier B, sudo ifconfig eth0 xx.xx.xx.xx, it says that “SIOCSIFNETMASK: cannot assign requested address”. The Xaiver B can access the internet indivisually or must through Xaiver A?

When I restart the system, the eth0 is reset too, then I can set eth0 in Xavier B. Is there any method to set the networks for both A & B at the same time?

Hi @lijie2019

  • this error happens if you have set an illegal netmask value, please check your netmask.
  • each Xavier can access the ethernet port individually because they are connected through internal switches.
  • there are 2 options for the Xavier’s to power up with an assigned IP:
  1. by default the Xavier is configured to get a dynamic IP from the network. so if you connect the Drive to a DHCP server then he will assign a dynamic IP for each Xavier when the ethernet connection is up.
  2. you can also set manually a static IP for each Xavier you need and on reboot.
