The question about Xavier pcie ports

customer asked how to config the pcie port:

  1. how many ports we can configed for AGX Xavier platform.
  2. could it be configured as one 8 lanes and two 4 lanes root ports?
  3. do we have to config the pcie as the pic shows? Can we change the config through the change of dtb config?

Please refer to Table 22. Xavier Module USB 3.1, PCIe & UFS Lane Mapping Configurations in OEM DG, there are total five PCIe ports supported, 2 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x 4 & 1 x 8.

  • Well, technically yes. But, it can’t be done on Jetson AGX base board. A different base board needs to be designed for that. Once the HW is ready, there are changes required in both DeviceTree configuration as well as the ODM data.
  • Yes. As mentioned above, changes are required in both DT as well as ODM.

If customer design their own base board, and with the change in DeviceTree, can they combine the 2x1 and 1x2 to one 1x4 root port?

Well, that may not be possible as is. But, if you select a configuration where you have a controller enabled in x4 configuration, then use it
