What driver will be the best for my system (Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS) in ThinkPad P16 Gen 1?
There are 12 options, as listed below:
I’d choose nvidia-driver-525 (proprietary).
Because it’s the production release and also not the open version, which still lacks functionality AFAIK.
Sadly, NVIDIA driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-525 (proprietary) does not work properly on Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS (ThinkPad P16 Gen 1).
There is a repeatable problem when working with multiple monitors: every few hours the screen on one (random) external monitor “freezes”.
The solution is to disconnect the HDMI cable for a while or turn the problematic monitor off and on again in Display Settings.
The above problem did not occur with Nouveau drivers.
What can we do with this?
