Cannot launch night on Mac OSX Mavericks

(damn spelling correctors)

I just installed the cuda dev kit on a macbook pro. When I tried to launch nsight, it first complained that I did not have java 6 JRE installed, so I installed it. (I have Java 8 installed as well). Next time I tried to launch it quickly crashes with a dialog stating that an error has occurred and that I should check out a log file in ~/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.7.0_351938814/configuration/…

The log file contains:
