Can't start Omniverse Kit

I’m trying to run omniverse kit on my machine, but I keep getting the error ‘Failed to create any GPU devices, including an attempt with compatibility mode’.

I’m running Windows Server 2022 with an NVIDIA Tesla T4 GPU. I’m using the latest nvidia drivers available to me (538.67), but I’ve also attempted rolling back to previous versions. Nvidia-smi shows drivers are properly installed (NVIDIA-SMI 538.67, Driver Version: 538.67, CUDA Version: 12.2), and device manager shows my GPU is available.

How can I get this to run?

Is there any solution to this? I’m facing the same error with the same configuration. I tried with L4 as well. The machine is in Google cloud. @nvidia_user_1234, please help.

The NVIDIA L4 GPU does not include RT Cores. The L4 is part of NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture, designed primarily for AI inference, video processing, and cloud-based workloads rather than real-time ray tracing. So it will not work with Nvidia Omniverse. It would have to be a L40, Geforce or Quadro card. So a 4090 or an A6000 would be good.
