When I add the Unreal Engine 5.4 DLSS 3.7 plugins, it breaks the UI. Random black boxes appear in the menus, making them unusable. The black boxes also appear in other areas blocking the UI.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both Unreal Engine and the DLSS plugins, but the issues remain.
The issue is in any project, including the Nvidia sample scene.
This issue went away when I uninstalled Nvidia Experience
I uninstalled Nvidia Experience because it was using a huge amount of system resources all the time despite not really having any features I’d use 99.9% of the time. I didn’t uninstall it because of this issue, but the issue did go away after uninstalling it, so I’m assuming that was the issue.
I’m running a 4060p with Ryzen 7 7735HS and 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM.
Hi there @QRobots and welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
Great to hear that you could get it resolved.
The issue is actually related to something else, I just don’t find the thread right now where this was discussed on the Unreal forums.
In any case, if removing GFE does it for you, perfect!
In case you want to try out a replacement (and see if the issue re-appears) take a look at the GFE replacement. Still in Beta, but already with much of the feature set.
I reinstalled Nvidia Experience and this time there wasn’t an issue. So now, I’m not sure what the issue was.
It was a full system reinstall with new OS install and new UE install. So it might have been a fix in a newer version of the apps, or there might have just been an error when I installed it the first time. It’s hard to know.
Thanks for the Nvidia App link. I’ll I’ve been meaning to test that out, so will use it anyway.
