Help the bug with jetson AI black screen

  • Inserted SD card with JetPack 5.1.3 → Jetson boots, but no display (black screen).
  • Waited 5+ minutes → power cycled with same SD card still inserted.
  • On second boot: appears to perform firmware update (fan spins, may stop), but still no output.
  • Reboot again (without SD card) and press ESCUEFI still shows “Not specified” for firmware version.
  • Tried booting multiple times — Jetson keeps repeating firmware update behavior (boots black, fan stops), but firmware never updates.
  • Confirmed JetPack 6.2 SD card still boots to Shell> — firmware clearly hasn’t updated to 36.x.

overall, i input card with sd513 download boot the jetson, but it remain black after loading a while. On the screen have Nvidia logo , it’s still version 3.0 on 2023-02-32 after putting sd 5.1.3 in and reboot.

earliest updated: after doing something i unplyg power, and replug it said attempting something 4, then not go to shell any more but black screen → it will run back on? is it stuck?

Hi,

Do you follow the 🚀 Initial Setup Guide - Jetson Orin Nano - NVIDIA Jetson AI Lab to upgrade your JP5.1.3 ?
Do you have the native ubuntu to install sdk manager for flashing your orin nano?

Thanks

thank you for replying!

I just follow exactly the same, however. When I flash from macm1 to a micro SD card, then reinsert it into the Jetson Orin, it doesn’t change anything. The native Ubuntu you talked about is the OS I should download onto the microSD card, too, right? With the 5.1.3? Thank you so much, I downloaded the 5.1.3 already and flashed it, but it doesn’t change the Jetson Orin.

Hi,

Do you have a native ubuntu?
If yes, please install sdk manager to flash your machine.
It’s our recommended way to flash our device.

Thanks
