ISSAC SIM Crash GUI error

Hi @P.H.R — sorry you’re hitting this. A few things to help narrow it down:

Could you clarify and share a bit more?

  • Exact Isaac Sim version: your post mentions both 4.5.0 and 5.1.0 — which one is actually installed?
  • NVIDIA driver version (nvidia-smi or NVIDIA Control Panel → System Information). The driver field in your report is blank, and several recent Windows GUI-crash reports have been resolved by a driver up- or downgrade — see for example Isaac Sim 5.1 GUI crash on RTX 5070 Ti — fixed by driver downgrade to 591.74.
  • The Kit log file from %USERPROFILE%\.nvidia-omniverse\logs\Kit\Isaac-Sim\<version>\ (attach the most recent kit_*.log). The last few hundred lines almost always pinpoint whether it’s a GPU/driver, USD asset cache, or extension load failure.

One important note on hardware: the RTX 3050 Laptop with 4 GB VRAM is below the recommended spec for Isaac Sim 5.x (8 GB+ VRAM is the practical minimum). If a recent Isaac Sim auto-update bumped you to a heavier version, that could explain why it ran two months ago but not today. You might try installing Isaac Sim 4.5.0 specifically and see if that runs.

Heads-up: Isaac Sim support is moving to GitHub — for fastest triage from the team, please also consider opening a GitHub Discussion or Issue with the same details + log attached.
