Jetson is not booting after reboot

Hello,

I have a few Jetson Orins. I am using a docker image to run my custom scripts, DWS to remote access, and crontab jobs to connect to the internet via Simcom Wvan Sim 7600x automatically.

Usually, the device works fine. However, after some time, I am always losing connection to the device. When I change a thing on the device and reboot it via the reboot command, it does not boot up.

I am always using an sd card to boot the device. I tried to install the OS via SDKManager or burn an image that I downloaded from nvidia’s website directly. The result is always the same.

How can I debug this issue? Are there any known issues with Jetson Orin Nano that can cause this problem?

Btw, I have two cameras connected to my system. I have 2 motors, and the device is powered through an AC/DC converter. When I replace the SD card, the device works fine until the next failure.

There is a known issue that some sdcards seem to easily get corrupted filesystem.

Okay, yesterday I lost another device. This time I noticed that the Jetson Board was overheated and even after replacing the SD card it didn’t boot. So I think I completely lost the device this time.

So I will set Serial Debug connection to one of the devices with faulty(?) SD card.

I will boot another Jetson Orin by following this page:

For another Jetson Orin I will use an SSD instead of an SD card.

Finally, I will use the same SD card with a Jetson Xaiver NX. I hope we can figure out the cause of this issue, but it seems Jetson Orin Nano is not as stable as the previous models.

Just to confirm, is it okay to keep the Jetson Orin Nano running for days without a reboot? Usually, I use 85-90% of the CPU and RAM. Also, I am running a human detection model at each 0.2 seconds on GPU.

I need the serial console log to confirm if you really hit the sdcard issue I mentioned first.

Please refer to this post to recover your system. Your system is in “recovery image” now.

This image will not show the error log and the reason you are in this situation is previously there are consecutive times of boot failure.

You need to dump the log after you recover from recovery image.
