Jetson Nano not booting up with DC barrel jack

Hello,
I’m currently using 5V 4A DC power supply with a jumper on J48 to boot my jetson nano, but when I plug in the power supply, the voltage sometimes goes up for a split second and then goes low to near 0V again (the power LED didn’t light up), but sometimes nano just boots up normally. Booting up the nano with USB supply works fine, but with DC barrel jack depends on luck. Could anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi sandy123429,

Please refer to below thread to see if can help: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1048640/jetson-nano/power-supply-considerations-for-jetson-nano-developer-kit/

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have also looked at that thread, but unfortunately my case is different. Most of them still have the green light on, one post referred to light off was actually due to the jumper’s problem. But in my case, the jumper works perfectly fine. I have also used an adjustable power supply from labor to do a test and still got same result. So I guess the power supply is not the problem. I am actually wondering if the board has a deep sleep mode that causes this problem, or do I need a special shutdown process to make it bootable for the next time I plug in the power?

No, there is no special shutdown process. Each time you plug the power, it should auto boot up.
