Omniverse create crashes when loading material from Nvidia Library

Omniverse composer crashes when applying any of the colored variants of this material to any geometry. I’ve tested on separate workstations and different geometries with the same result.

Please update to 106.5.

If you are having issues, I strongly suggest a complete delete and flush out the old version.

This is in two places.

1. The first, obviously, in the “kit-app-template” folder. I would completely remove it.
2. Not so obvious is the entire OV folder found in your Windows User temp folder at “c:/users/USER/appdate/local/ov”. Again, please totally delete that folder.

Doing both of these will essentially completely factory reset your kit app template.

If you are still having trouble with this, please tell us exactly what material classes are causing issues. We no longer include a lot of those special mdls as “standard”. You have to add them back in to the kit app template. We are reducing the “out of the box” mdl types a lot. To add them back in, you need to edit your kit file.

After testing in the composer kit app with 106.5, these materials no longer crash. The downside is that the composer kit app template does not have feature parity with the launcher version and although I assume one could achieve that by including all of the necessary extensions, I don’t know how to

@Richard3D - I was having trouble updating Kit from the launcher, not the kit-app-template. That seems to be working as expected.

Yes you have said that before. About parity, but this is the NEW version. Upgraded. Faster. Better RTX. What are you missing in the new version? You are welcome to keep and use both. But to stay up to date, we recommend you check regularly on our GitHub page. We update all the time.

I can confirm this issue is solved by the new kit 106.5 version. Regarding the difference between the kit-app template composer and the launcher composer, I made a new post about that so we can close this one.

How to build complete composer from kit-app-template?
