Replacement required for Jetson AGX Orin Dev Kit

The Jetson Orin AGX developer kit that we recently bought is not powering up post running some tests on it. We noticed that the power source is generating some clicking noise and the white power LED is not turning on. We tried using the power source of another Jetson kit but it also generating the same clicking noise.

Please help to troubleshoot this issue or help to get the RMA done.

TIA.

Based on the provided context, I’ll attempt to troubleshoot the issue with the Jetson AGX Orin developer kit.

Symptoms:

  1. The kit is not powering up.
  2. The power source is generating a clicking noise.
  3. The white power LED is not turning on.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Power Source: Since you’ve tried using the power source from another Jetson kit and it’s still generating the same clicking noise, it’s likely that the issue is not with the power source itself.
  2. Power Sequencing: According to the Jetson Orin NX Series and Jetson Orin Nano Series Product Design Guide, the Orin module is powered up before the carrier board (Section 6.1). Ensure that the power sequencing is correct and that the Orin module is receiving power before the carrier board.
  3. Pins Pulled or Driven High During Power-On: Check if any of the pins on the Orin module are pulled or driven high during power-on (Table 13-1). If so, ensure that the carrier board design takes this into account to avoid damage or excessive leakage to sensitive devices.
  4. Fan and Thermal Solution: Although not directly related to the power issue, ensure that the fan and thermal solution are properly configured and functioning correctly (Section 12.5).
  5. SPI and Other Interfaces: Verify that the SPI and other interfaces are not causing any issues (Section 12.2).

Comparison with Other Jetson Kits:

Since you’ve tried using the power source from another Jetson kit and it’s still generating the same clicking noise, it’s possible that the issue is specific to the Jetson AGX Orin developer kit.

RMA Process:

If none of the above troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, it’s likely that the kit is faulty and needs to be replaced. To initiate the RMA process, please contact the manufacturer’s support team and provide them with the following information:

  1. Kit serial number
  2. Detailed description of the issue
  3. Steps taken to troubleshoot the issue
  4. Any relevant error messages or logs

The support team will guide you through the RMA process and provide a replacement kit if necessary.

Additional Information:

If you’re experiencing issues with the EKB (Encrypted Key Blob) or secure boot, please refer to the relevant sections in the Jetson Orin NX Series and Jetson Orin Nano Series Product Design Guide. However, based on the provided symptoms, it’s unlikely that the issue is related to EKB or secure boot.

Have you checked the power adaptor was connecting well?

Yes, we have tried multiple times.

  1. Power Sequencing: We have not changed any power sequencing. We are using it as it is when received from the manufacturer.

  2. Pins Pulled or Driven High During Power-On: The default carrier board that is supplied with the kit is used. When compared with a working kit, all the connections remain the same (jumpers and other pin states)

  3. Fan and Thermal Solution: This is as is when received and nothing has been altered.

  4. SPI and Other Interfaces: We are not using any interfaces.

We will initiate the RMA process as none of the steps above are applicable.

Hi,

Please put the device into recovery mode, then use the SDK Manager to reflash it.
Also, capture and provide the serial console log while performing the flashing process.

Thanks

Hi,

We tried putting the Jetson into the recovery mode. The white power LED still does not come on and the Jetson is not discoverable in the Host PC post the recovery mode.

Thanks

Hi,

Please proceed with the RMA process.

Thanks
