Trace length for PCIe and GbE signals

Hello,

We are designing a system with Jetson TX2 module. We are not able to meet the maximum trace length for PCIe and GbE signals as recommended in the OEM design guide. But the trace length is well within general requirement of PCIe Gen2 and GbE interfaces. Why is the limit so strict for Jetson TX2 platform as mentioned in the OEM design guide.
For example: The recommended trace length for PCIe in OEM design guide is 5.5inch. But, it is around 6.3 inch in out platform.

The recommended trace length for GbE is 4.29 inch but the trace length for GbE in our design is around 8 inches.

Can we go ahead with above trace length? Can anyone please suggest?

Thanks
Goutam

Hi, the maximum trace length in DG is for carrier board, that is considered with trace in module and total requirement in PCIe and GbE spec. So keeping trace length in range is important. Suggest to follow that totally.
