I upgraded my Jetson Orin Super Nano using Jetpack 7.2.1. Installation of the Jetpack on NVMe appears solid with SUPERMAX enabled. 7.2.1 uses Ubuntu 24.04. On other Ubuntu 24.04 systems I have I use ROS2 Jazzy. Does anyone know if this is the recommended ROS2 version for Jetpack 7.2.1?
Hello @photomark,
Thanks for posting in the Isaac ROS forum!
Yes. ROS 2 Jazzy is the recommended ROS distribution for JetPack 7.2.1 /Jetson Linux 39.2.1, which uses Ubuntu 24.04 on the Jetson Orin Nano.
JetPack does not install or require a specific ROS distribution by itself, but ROS 2 Jazzy provides official Ubuntu 24.04 arm64 packages. If you plan to use Isaac ROS, Isaac ROS 4.6 is also designed and tested with ROS 2 Jazzy and lists Jetson Orin with JetPack 7.2 as a supported platform. You could check the system requirements here.
