Isaac Sim Installation Fail

I’m trying to install Isaac Sim from Omniverse-launcher.
System is Ubuntu 18.04, GPU is RTX 3060, CPU is Intel(R) Core™ i5-10500H
Getting this error info:

How can I resolve this problem?

I reinstalled ubuntu os and the problem was solved.
In my case, I guess the problem was related to chrome remote desktop.

I use the vmvare VM (ubuntu 20.04) as the server,do you know How to connect ubuntu remote desktop gracefully with vGPU supported?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Could you elaborate more on the chrome remote desktop problem? I am also remotely working using Anydesk and am confused whether I should reinstalled Ubuntu OS or abandon remote control. Thank you!

Hi, I have not tried it (vGPU + Vmvare) myself so can’t really help you with that. I am actually surprised to know that it’s a possible approach as I thought Virutal Machines could not access the physical GPU previously. Lmk if you managed to get this work. I am interested.

You may check the display driver from remote control software, which is different from the one you run the os locally.

You may use the web livestream techniques or Omniverse Streaming Client provided by Nvidia to access the server.

Are you suggesting that because I am controlling the computer remotely, and the remote control software is not using Nvidia GPU driver, the installation of Sim would be affected as it requires Nvidia GPU driver? I don’t see how this makes sense and would really appreciate it if you could explain more. Also, if I can’t get Sim installed on that computer, how would Omniverse Streamimg Client or web livestream techniques assist me. Thank you!

@zhong2 Are you running the Launcher natively? Can you try install and run Omniverse Create?
Please share the output of nvidia-smi.

I’ve resolved this issue by completely unistalling Nvidia driver, Vulkan and Isaac Sim. Then Install the right versions of Nvidia driver and Vulkan, followed by Sim 2022.1.0.
