Hi,
In designing the camera circuit of TX2, I have a problem that I need to ask you for advice. The problem is as follows:
What is the maximum length of the wire from the mipi csi interface to the camera?
Thanks.

Hi, please check the table of MIPI DSI & CSI Interface Signal Routing Requirements in OEM DG for max trace delay.
Hi, thank you for your reply.
I mean: can I make a mipi-csi interface on the carrier board, at the same time, make the camera (such as imx185) into a module, keep an interface J2 on it, and then use a wire harness of about 3-4 meters to connect the J1 and J2, so will the camera work normally?
Looking forward to your reply!
Thanks
Hi yupw24,
As far as I know, the standard mipi-csi cables only work on distances below 30cm.
For longer distances SerDes solutions are implemented. As example FPD Link III supports transmission distances to 15 meters.

No, the total trace length is limited as guideline, it includes all traces from module pin to camera pin.
As you said “As example FPD Link III supports transmission distances to 15 meters”, I choose the chip ds90ub954-q1, then what kind of camera should I choose? Can you give me some recommendations?
Looking forward to your reply!
Thanks
Hi,
The chip ds90ub954-q1 (serializer on camera side) requires a deserializer (ds90ub960-q1). I have been working with a SerDes configuration from D3 Engineering, they have a daughter board compatible with TX2:
Camera interface board:
This daughter board has FPD Link III and GMSL2 deserializers, I’m currently using an OV10640 (FPD Link III) on Xavier but it also works on TX2:
I hope this helps in your case.
